Dr. Gurkaran Dhaliwal BSc, OD Doctor of Optometry

Dr. Gurkaran Dhaliwal was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. He spent 4 years at University of Western Ontario studying Medical Sciences before moving to England to pursue further education in Optometry. Gurkaran graduated with honors in Optometry from City University in London in the United Kingdom. Upon his graduation, Gurkaran began working for one of the world’s largest optometry company, SpecSavers while residing in the United Kingdom.

During his career as an Optometrist at SpecSavers, Gurkaran found his passion for treating ocular diseases and working with contact lenses. Gurkaran is now using his knowledge and experience to help treat his patients with dry eye therapy and provide various ocular aesthetic procedures.

Dr. Munsa Rana received her Honor’s Bachelor of Science with a minor in Public Health at the University of Waterloo in 2016, after which she attended Inter-American School of Puerto Rico for her Doctorate of Optometry. Puerto Rico gave her exposure to extensive pathology and venues within the realm of optometry allowing her to be knowledgeable in multiple sectors in the field of Optometry.  

During her studies and residency at Collazo Ophthalmology and Optometry associates in Philadelphia, PA, she excelled and trained extensively in ocular disease, glaucoma, pre and post-op, low vision, sports vision, contact lens, vision therapy and contact lenses, allowing her to provide the best care to her patients. Upon graduation, Dr. Rana earned the Eschenbach Low vision Student Award and the Canadian Association of Optometry Students Liaison award.

Work & Life

Presently, Dr. Rana holds the title of Vice President of Eastern Services with the charity Canadian Eyesight Global which entails helping immigrant communities and low income communities with free eye care and patient education across Rural India and the Greater Toronto Area. She was also a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship Award from Rotary International in 2019. Dr. Rana is an active member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists.

Dr. Rana’s passion lies in patient education, preventative care, ocular disease, patient management, low vision, vision therapy, glaucoma and beyond. Dr. Rana offers full comprehensive exams fluently in English, Spanish, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.

In her free time, Dr. Rana enjoys outdoor sports, time with family and friends, cooking and travelling.

Dr. Bobby Mundra OD Doctor of Optometry

Dr. Bobby Mundra was born and raised in Toronto. He spent 4 years in Chicago at the Illinois College of Optometry, where he received his Doctor of Optometry with clinical honours. Having started clinical practice early in his education, he found specific interests in specialized contact lenses, myopia control, cornea/dry eye, ocular disease, and pediatrics.

Throughout his experience, Dr. Mundra worked with leading ophthalmologists and LASIK surgeons where he provided advanced dry eye care and specialty contact lens fittings for patients with corneal transplants, failed LASIK, and keratoconus. Dr. Mundra’s time in Southside Chicago and Lawndale provided him with experience in advanced systemic and ocular diseases. He also worked at the Illinois Eye Institute where he provided pediatric care for children of all ages and vision therapy services for children and concussion victims.

Today, Dr. Mundra is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists. He enjoys providing eye care for infants as early as 18 months to managing myopia progression in young children utilizing modern treatments. He can provide care for all ages regarding: pre/post LASIK and cataract surgery, dry eye management, orthoK/sclerals and specialized contact lenses. Additionally, he provides health assessments with those who have diabetes, glaucoma, or other chronic health diseases.
