Eye care coverage can be confusing, but our office will walk you through the process. The Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) covers annual eye exams for patients 19 years of age and younger as well as patients aged 65 and older.
If you have underlying visual conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetes, or visual field defects, OHIP may cover an annual exam even if you’re between the ages of 20 and 64.
